Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, FileZilla is a popular FTP client, available for Linux, Windows and Mac systems. The latest version available is FileZilla 3.9.0.5, which has been recently released, coming with an enhanced auto-updater that now performs proper updates.
In this article I will show you how to install FileZilla 3.9.0.5 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0 and other Ubuntu 14.04 derivative systems.
Because it is available via PPA, installing FileZilla 3.9.0.5 on Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the filezilla package. Like this:
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:n-muench/programs-ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install filezilla
Optional, to remove filezilla, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove filezilla
